Problem
Most task management apps either overwhelm users with features or lack the flexibility needed for real daily use. I wanted to find the balance an interface that feels light yet powerful, and a system that supports deep focus and time-sensitive tasks.
Solution
FlowTask introduces a minimalist workflow with:
A calendar-focused layout for visual time planning
Task categories like Urgent, Normal, and custom tags
A clean, dark-themed interface with contrasting task cards for easy scanning
Profile-based task ownership for personal and team use
Design Approach / Key Features
I chose a bold and modern look with a dark UI complemented by rich teal highlights. This contrast improves visual clarity and adds a sense of calmness while navigating. The typography is strong yet simple, allowing the task content to take centre stage.
Animations and micro-interactions were designed to feel natural and not distract from the core experience — just enough to guide the user along.
Design Approach
Integrated Weekly View – Quickly view and manage tasks across your week with an interactive calendar.
Task Priority Tags – Visual priority levels (e.g., Urgent, Normal) that stand out and guide focus.
Workflow Focus – A clear structure with only what you need: add, sort, complete.
User Assignments – Tag teammates or keep it solo – it works both ways.
Summary
FlowTask is a focused, elegant task management app that’s easy to use and powerful enough for both personal productivity and light team collaboration. It’s a concept I plan to continue developing with more features like time tracking, smart reminders, and cloud syncing.
